Embark on a transformative journey at our workshop as we delve into the dynamic intersection of Adult ADHD, Contextual Behavioral Science (CBS), and Clinical Behavior Analysis (CBA). This innovative session will unravel the complexities of ADHD in adulthood through the lens of evidence-based practices, providing a roadmap for harnessing one's unique strengths. Join us to explore practical strategies, empowering tools, and personalized interventions rooted in CBS and BA, fostering a holistic approach to navigating the challenges of adult ADHD. Together, let's unlock the full potential within, fostering growth, resilience, and a renewed sense of self in the face of ADHD.
Abstract: The course aims to help attendees gain an understanding of the experience of adults with ADHD through the lens of contextual behavioral science. This workshop will identify common frameworks to conceptualize ADHD functions while rooting intervention in functional contextualism. To enhance comprehension, the course incorporates experiential components. These may include using media, engaging in role-play exercises, and employing various strategies to immerse participants in the lived experiences of individuals with ADHD. This hands-on approach will help participants develop a felt sense of what it’s like to have ADHD and understand the interactions of those frameworks and their consequences on ADHD functioning. Participants will also learn how to select an appropriate functional framework based on clients' needs, meeting them where they are at.
Target Audience: The workshop is ideal for beginning practitioners new to the model as well as those already practicing ACT at an intermediate level who want to refresh their repertoire. It is appropriate for all behavioral health professionals, including Psychologists, Licensed Mental Health Counselors, Psychiatrists, Social Workers, and Psychiatric Nurse-Practitioners.
